DIY My dad takes on a project.

                                                HAPPY NEW YEAR✨

You might be wondering where we have been the last few weeks.

I'm going to show ya'll a project from start to finish.

Now some of you know we moved into a new to us house in June 2017.

Mom and dad have made a few improvements in the last few months.

Below is the kitchen before the projects began.

Lots of space in here. But room for improvement.
There is no dishwasher!!!
More on that as we progress.

First we started with a new glass top range & microwave.

Mom picked out the range and microwave.
Dad installed everything while
Mommy was at work.
Remember, Mom works every weekend.

Then Aunt Cathy's refrigerator stopped running.

Two weeks later our refrigerator felt sympathy
and gave out too.

Then Christmas came Dad kept asking Mom.
"What do you want for Christmas"?
She told him nothing.
We have everything we need.

So he bought her flowers.

Then one day.............
Mitzie and Astro told Jeff
"Daddy we are tired of licking all the dirty dishes". bol ha ha

Jeff wasn't  going to believe that.

Then the major DIY started.
Again while Mommy was at work.

Power tools!!

It's a good thing Mommy was at work.
At this point she would be deep breathing
and having a few HBO words.

Let's hope dad finishes before mom gets home!!!!!

It fits the hole dad made in the cabinets.

Dad had everything done when Mom got home,
but he still had to pick up the mess.

Does your Dad love power tools?

And now if you come to our house for dinner
we will put the dishes in the dishwasher.
Our dogs will no longer be doing dishes. bol ha ha

Hey Friends Thanks for all the Christmas Cards.

We also want to say Thanks for reading our post today.

Come back soon.

Astro and Mitzie will be having a giveaway.

Don't worry there is plenty of time,
and no you don't have to be a subscriber to our blog
NO jumping through rings of fire or any
shenanigans.

Hint Hint
If you remember Mike The WF Pony
we got his twin brother.

  1. your dad is an artist!!!! he has golden hands and a golden heart!!!! our dad loves power tools... but it seems that is a kind of one way love, the power tools do always things what were not planned, so they probably are not in love with our dad...

  9. Clapping wildly, your dad is a very very very handy dandy Daddy! I love the appliances..and my glass top stove...warning if there is storage above the stove ONLY but light stuff up there like paper products . I recently had to replace my glass top because something heavy fell from above it broke the glass top.
Thank you for your kind bday wishes

  11. Oh your Daddy is wonderful!!!!! Please, don't tell me that is a GE microwave and stove (our 7 yr old GE stove that looks just like yours is broken, the oven part and the range top microwave broke last year).....hoping that isn't GE, if so, make sure you keep activating your warranties!

  18. WOW! That is nice of your husband to surprise you like that. Well...minus the mess. BUT...that kitchen is really nice--spacious--and now...updated with new appliances!

(I know all about appliances/electronics whispering to each other--my hard drive went on my computer and then the furnace started to smell....ugh.)

  19. He did a great job. Our kitchen is SOOO tiny, we didn't have room for a dishwasher when we put in a new (well antique) sink and cupboards but I'm just happy to have a countertop that's NOT broken up by a sink so I have space to make my bread.

  20. Your dad did such a wonderful job. We wish we had a dishwasher in our place. Looks like you are ready to have some delicious meals coming out of this kitchen. Thanks for sharing the photos. Have a wonderful weekend.

  21. Ooh isn’t that funny we both were doing the same thing in the kitchen! Kudos to hubby for doing the work. I’m impressed that he cut out the cabinet and put in the dishwasher! As helpful as Dan is he avoids wood working projects. Having the refrigerator conk out added a lot more expense but now you have all new appliances! You must be super delighted with all these new additions!
